The challenge: legal certainty in a global environment

Hasbro, one of the most recognized companies worldwide in the entertainment and manufacturing industry, faced a unique challenge in its Mexican operations. Although they were already using an electronic signature platform mandated by global guidelines, it did not meet local legal standards, especially regarding the legal validity of signed documents in the event of litigation.

Their legal team identified that their existing solution offered digital signing options without robust authentication mechanisms or technical elements like time stamps or preservation certificates. This raised doubts about the integrity of the documents and the identity of the signers, leaving them exposed in critical processes such as service agreements, purchase and sale contracts, covenants, and offer letters.

The need to take a step further did not come from a crisis, but from a proactive vision: to anticipate potential legal scenarios and guarantee the validity of every signature issued in Mexico.

The solution: legal certainty with Mexican technology

In search of a robust solution, Hasbro's legal and procurement team in Mexico found in Mifiel a platform that directly addressed their concerns: a solution that complies with NOM-151, allows for signing with an advanced electronic signature, and backs every document with preservation certificates and time stamps.

‍Since its implementation, Hasbro has transformed its contract operations. Today, every signed document has sufficient technical and legal backing to be defended in any court, completely eliminating the need for paper signatures.

The signing process also improved in efficiency and control. Now, for example, contracts can be scheduled with signing deadlines and configured to send automatic reminders to those who have not yet signed. Additionally, the legal team can define which individuals must use their e.firma linked to a specific RFC, ensuring that only authorized users can finalize key agreements.

In cases involving foreign signers, Mifiel has also allowed them to maintain operational agility without compromising legal validity by offering the option of a simple electronic signature with biometric validation.
