Driscoll’s, a leader in the research and development of high-quality berry seeds, relies on contracts signed with producers before they can deliver plants and begin planting. This step is essential to formalize commitments with producers and ensure orderly planting planning in a seasonal, high-demand market.
Before using Mifiel, Sofía, who is responsible for managing these contracts, had to travel for hours to the agricultural regions of Jalisco to collect signatures manually. When errors arose in the contracts, such as incorrect data or last-minute adjustments, it was necessary to reprint them and coordinate new trips to the field to collect the producer's signature again. In many cases, Sofía relied on trips from other departments to take advantage of their visits to the agricultural areas, reducing her autonomy and ability to react to urgent matters. All of this created bottlenecks that reduced the optimal planting window and could postpone harvests, affecting the income of both Driscoll’s and its producers.
Due to internal policies, Driscoll’s had to ensure that the information contained in their contracts with producers remained confidential and was not shared with third parties, including their own technology providers. Normally, meeting this level of confidentiality requires complex and expensive on-premise solutions that often slow down implementation.
